Mark Montalbano has recently rejoined as Partner with his long time colleague Steve Coppa to open Coppa Montalbano Architects in the spring of 2016. Their relationship dates back to 1999 and the firm’s long history to 1956. (Formally Comerro Coppa Architects)
Mark has extensive experience in multiple public and private sectors and continues to successfully navigate them all. Recently Mark has had a primary focus on municipal and educational projects ranging from grade school to post-secondary education including county vocational high schools, community colleges and universities.
The earlier part of Mark’s career was spent as project manager with Gwathmey Siegel & Associates, and Kohn Pederson and Fox in New York City. While there, Mark was involved with high end corporate, institutional and celebrity type residential projects. This experience has lead Mark to other similar type clients over his 23 plus year career.
Mark has also had extensive experience with challenging urban adaptive reuse projects as well as older historic building restorations and corporate and industrial projects of varying scale. He has assisted the New York Archdiocese on several religious and annex structure for multiple church organizations throughout New York and other religious institutions in New Jersey.
As managing partner, Mark is directly involved in the day-to-day production and operations of CMA and intimately familiar with each and every project we take on. His design work ethic, attention to detail and high quality standard is maintained in every project type and scale he has involvement with.
